An Exciting Flexo Press Upgrade

An exciting flexo press upgrade is the Servo 3000 Digital Infeed + Re-register system made by Rotary Technologies. For a fraction of the cost of a new press, a printer can add the Servo 3000. This digital product allows the printer to re-register the web so that he can print in 8, 12, or 16 colors instead of just 4. The Servo 3000 press upgrade will reliably result in less wasted paper on each printing job. The Servo 3000 makes an older flexo press act like new.

In printing labels, flexible packaging, on plastic or metal films, and on paper the Servo 3000 benefits the printer on first pass printing. The Servo 3000 is 100% digital and servo driven. Users can experience better color registration on first pass printing.

It is with multiple passes and better web tension that the Servo 3000 can make an older press work like new. The Servo 3000 will re-register the web allowing for multiple passes. Other improvements offered by the Servo 3000 come from eliminating the infeed gear train and the existing infeed/pacing cylinder. Elimination of worn mechanical gears and gear boxes leads to more precise tracking and elimination of backlash.

An additional benefit of the Servo 3000 Digital Infeed + Re-register system is that it may be used just for re-registering the web on second pass printing for offline applications or when you receive rolls of pre-printed product supplied from resources other than your own. In either case, the Servo 3000 will perform as if the pre-printed rolls were produced on the same press.

With new presses costing from $500,000 to $1,000,000 the addition of a Servo 3000 system to an existing press for a fraction of the cost makes sense for the cost conscious flexo printer. Rotary Technologies offers an excellent, single fix to many of the problems bedeviling an older flexo printer.
